FAQ’s for Microneedling

  • -After the procedure, your skin will be red and flushed in appearance, similar to a sunburn.

    -You may feel skin tightness and sensitivity

    -Some sensitive clients may feel exhausted or not well for the rest of the day

    -Within 24 hours the skin will generally return to its normal appearance

    -Within several days, your skin may peel or flake

  • Microneedling is not recommended for those with the following:

    -Keloid scars

    -Vascular diseases

    -Active fungal or bacterial infection

    -Acneic skin types and those with cystic acne

    -Active cold sores

    -Pregnancy

    -HIV

    -Chemotherapy

    -Cardiac abnormalities

  • Microneedling has not been evaluated in the following patient populations, and, as such, precautions should be taken when determining whether the Microneedling procedure is adequate for the person:

    -Scars and stretch marks less than one year old

    -Women who are pregnant or nursing

    -Keloid scars

    -People with a history of eczema, psoriasis, and other chronic conditions

    -People with a history of actinic keratosis

    -People with a history of herpes or simplex infections, diabetics, or patients with wound-healing deficiencies

    -People undergoing immunosuppressive therapy

    -Those who have raised moles or warts on targeted areas or acne

Microneedling Aftercare

Microneedling is a multi-step process: 3-6 sessions are recommended. Your maximum results are 90 days after treatment and can last up to 2 years. For best results, only use the aftercare kit on your skin for 2 weeks following your service

  • Avoid the following for 1 week:

    • Facials or chemical peels

    • Picking, itching, touching or rubbing

    • Ice packs

    • Excessive sweating

    • Anti-inflammatory products

    • Sun exposure/tanning beds and saunas

  • Your skin will be red when you leave and will become "streaked" or "blotchy" later in the day.

  • Deep wrinkles, acne scars, frown lines, or smile lines (that we may "stamp") will take several extra days to recover and may look more inflamed/irritated during this time. Please let us know if we need to avoid this during any of your treatments.

  • Within a few days, your skin may look "speckled" and lightly peel. Thin areas of skin that we treat can have "blood spots" under the skin for several days.

  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications that are not a part of your normal medication regimen.

  • Your skin needs to remain inflamed for the first 24-hours to effectively "repair" the damage, thus promoting healing.

BB Glow

BB Glow procedures and treatments combine clinical skin treatments and permanent makeup to achieve smooth, glowing, youthful skin. BB Glow serums and foundations combine medical-based and organic ingredients to deliver essential nutrients to the skin, providing anti-aging and skin-correcting properties you cannot get from regular cosmetics. You can expect anti-aging skin results that help with cellular turnover to create more collagen, hydration, and anti-wrinkle effects. The “makeup” is semi-permanent and needs to be layered every couple of weeks until the desired coverage is met. This is not meant to look like makeup but a natural tint and glow that minimizes but does not opaquely cover skin imperfections. 

BB glow is done over a course of 2-10 sessions and most clients need 3-5 to achieve the desired result. Significant improvement is visible after the first session, but the longevity of the results is ensured through multiple treatments. Pigments will fade away after some time, due to the skin's natural turnover cycle. The longevity also depends on your skincare routine. If you often use anti-aging or chemical peel products, or do mechanical peels often, the results can disappear faster. Maintenance sessions are suggested every 4-5 months if you want to refresh the results.

Our BB Glow facial also includes the Carboxy Therapy Treatment: Co2 Gel was initially used to treat wounds, but it was found that the gel has the effect to reduce the subcutaneous fat later so that it can be applied to the use of shrinking the facial area. It is now used for skin care and the control of facial outlines. Carboxy CO2 Gel Mask is developed using this phenomenon, and it also improves blood flow, and brings nutrients & oxygenation to the skin, resulting in healthy tissue and cell regeneration. This leads to new collagen production and a healthier skin appearance. It also decreases downtime after lasers and microneedling. Results can be seen for up to two weeks after one treatment without downtime or side effects. Skin lightening is also a benefit – Carboxy activates blood circulation, which discharges toxins and significantly impacts whitening facial skin. It not only treats hyperpigmentation, but also enhances overall skin tone.

BB Glow Facial and Foundation

This BB glow service can be the initial appointment or done in between other BB services. Only recommended every 4 weeks. This service includes facial cleansing, a light chemical peel, anti-aging carboxy treatment therapy, nano needling of a skin treatment, and nano needling with pigment, all while also treating the client with led therapy.

BB Glow Microneedling Facial and Foundation

2 hrs | $675.00

This service is an initial appointment in a series of other BB treatments. This includes a facial cleanse, a carbon therapy treatment, lymphatic drainage, Microneedling with an enhanced skin treatment, Nano needling with pigment, all while giving your skin LED therapy. This service should be done every four weeks with other BB treatments in two-week intervals until desired results are met.

BB Glow - Just Foundation

45 min - 1 hr | $200.00

This service is meant to be done in between more in-depth BB services. It can be done bi-weekly. It also is an excellent add-on to any facial service!

FAQ’s for BB Glow

    -Taking Accutane or any medication for the same purpose within the past 6 months

    -Those with melanoma or other skin lesions

    -Injectable fillers within the last 2 weeks

    -Those who are immunosuppressed due to the potential for increased infection

    -Those who get regular laser treatments (laser treatments should not be done within 4 weeks or following 4 weeks of the BB Glow treatment).

  • Short-term risks could include problems such as redness, flaking, bruising, infections, pigmentation irregularities, or allergic responses. Bleeding is not generally expected but can happen if a client is on blood thinning medications. Scarring could have adverse effects on the skin texture. Those who have the herpes virus or are prone to cold sores should take the appropriate precautions or medications before the procedure.

BB Glow Aftercare

Not following any of these warnings or suggestions can result in discoloration of pigment applied, uneven pigmentation, scarring, infection, or irritation of the skin. It is recommended to have 3-10 procedures bi-weekly for best results. For those with heavy acne scarring and conditions such as melasma, more treatments are suggested. You will see some great skin results after initial treatment but the best results will occur around this 28-day period or after multiple sessions have occurred.

  • Do’s

    • Regularly apply hydrating and moisturizing products or hyaluronic acid

    • Wear a hat and sunscreen anytime you will be exposed to the sun

    • Treat your skin as if it were an open wound

    • Avoid makeup for 5 days

    • Use aftercare products to soothe, heal and revitalize skin post-procedure. Preferred products include an antioxidant, soothing balm, and sunscreen at a minimum.

  • Don’ts

    • Cleanse or touch your skin for 24 hours

    • Do not use aggressive acne, anti-aging products, or acids for 3 days

    • Avoid heavy exfoliation such as chemical peels and retinoids as they will reduce the duration of your bb foundation

    • Do not take any anti-inflammatory products or use ice packs on needled areas. Inflammation is an important part of the process

    • No touching, itching, picking, or scratching of any kind

    • 7 days no swimming

    • 14 days with no direct heat, sun, or saunas
